Wizards and Wagons App Reviews

Hard and confusing early on

Good production values but poor early introduction hamper what is probably a fun and engaging game. However, the early learning curve is so steep it turned me off completely.

Love it!

Looking forward to updates, keep up the great work!

Great concept, gets dull quickly

The concept is good, but running the same route over and over again just to inch towards the next wagon gets pretty boring. Would be much better if there was more real variety of defenses, and if you could achieve them more quickly. Great concept, but you can only spend so long running eggs between the same two towns.

Way, way too hard!

Do not waste your time paying five dollars for this game. I bought this based on Touch Arcades review and I wish I hadnt. The game is super punishing early on. And the gameplay is monotonous.

Not worth my money!

I got the game today and have defenses on my cart on,y to find out they DONT EVEN WORK I tap and click. I cant EVEN KILL 1 PERSON I sit there defensless not able to do anything but die and die and die and die. Not worth it

Like spice and wolf

For anyone that has seen the anime "Spice and Wolf," this game reminds me of that system. You sell things so that you can buy more stuff to sell. But theres a lot to do. Quests, learning the demand/supply curves, and exploring new regions. There are a lot of towns to visit too. I am a fan of the show and love this game. There are no daily rewards to bring you back every day. To some, this is unfortunate. For me, I take it as bitter sweet. I dont feel compelled to play constantly. It makes it more enjoyable when I do play. Hints: sell items either at a town that has a demand for the item OR at least TWO towns away from where you bought it. The farther you are from the town you purchased it in, the better you will sell USUALLY. ALSO, the Draven wagon show is the best place to buy a wagon. Buy a bigger wagon early on, it pays for itself quickly and indefinitely. Even if you have to take a SMALL loan. Go for high defense once you leave the first continent, the others have brutal beasts.

Too brutal to be fun

I have spent way too much time playing this game to still feel like a beginner. I cannot afford any new wagons or weapons, and despite trying to buy low and sell high, I am finding that I am losing more money than I am making. Theres a difference between a game and being a real merchant. I didnt pick being a merchant for my profession so dont make this MerchantSim.

Just awful

Found this game to be a total mess. Ive played free merchant sim games online that are way more put together than this. Not sure how this got 4.5 stars on Touch Arcade. Will be avoiding their reviews in the future.

Good concept

I really want to enjoy this game, like really, the concept is neat, story is humorous, and the merchant stuff isnt too bad. Heres the thing, you are attacked ALL the time and the hit to miss ratio on mobs is terrible, you cant even hit birds with melee but they apparently do more dmg to your wooden wagon than a guy with an axe. Mobs steal your stuff but you cant hit them after they do apparently and picking up most things is difficult. The learning curve is pretty steep also and having any money for buying weapons, wagons, power ups is pretty much luck. Also the numbers of mobs that co,e at you makes it feel more like a twitch shooter than a merchant game.

Awesome

This game is addictive beyond belief, I highly recommend this to anyone that likes the merchant sim genre. U ride a wagon, buy low and sell high, vast world, gr8 artwork, weapons, upgrades, dragons and cyclops. It doesnt get any better than this. This game has a somewhat moderate learning curve and demands awareness to the demand and available supply throughout towns, i recommend never venturing beyond the first continent till u have familiarized urself with the mechanics and boy is it awesome once u get the hang of it.

Needs balancing!!

I want to like this game. But after 3 hours and 3 restarts, Ive decided this game is to unforgiving. It cost way to much to repair your wagon, and its almost impossible to make a profit even when you buy low and sell high your only going to make a like 200 gold and the cost of repairs to make the trip will be like 150.. Dont waste your time with this game

Simple yet deep gameplay

Cute art style and a few straight forward mechanics make this relatively deep Econ sim lots of fun.

Kinda Fun, but very difficult

This game is very difficult. Have not been able to figure out how to make enough profit from sales to offset cost of repairing damaged wagon. Like gonna give up on this game in about a week if it remains this difficult.

Fun but very hard

The game is super addictive but totally unforgiving.

Good concept, but not fun and not rewarding.

I have re-started this game 4 times and have tried to have a good strategy but the game fights against you all the time. I like the concept but it is not rewarding to play, just sad. Hordes of enemies can steal your cargo in a game that is 100% about cargo. Then leave you with no way to get money and upgrade your wagon. So you dont feel any progression. Also the Guild quests can be confusing. Limited time to get something and then bring it some where. But no help with a count down timer. Or allowing you to see a map. Pretty lame over all.

Well balanced

To those saying its too hard, obviously they are too young to be playing a game like this.

Wily rogue traders will love this!

Requires skill to play well. I got crushed my first game, but really enjoyed the challenge of earning my success. A lucrative trade route requires coordinating quests, events, news, and supply/demand. You also need some cargo puzzle packing, and a bit of fast paced combat tapping reflexes! This is my new favorite trading game. Ive played many in the genre, and few make the day to day trade and travel so compelling.

Cant believe this isnt more popular

Playing this a lot longer than expected. Its not easy by any means; smart trading strategies required to actually make money. Special quests and monsters keep things interesting for many hours. Graphics and UI are well done, and no bugs encountered to date. This is better than almost everything in the App Store.
